Lyrics
You are more faithful
Than a sea bringing waves to the shore,
Stars in the heavens,
Your mercies outnumber them all.

Forever faithful,
Your mercies are new every day,
Sunrise to sunrise,
Boundless horizons of grace.

CHORUS:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
The LORD, He is the Faithful One,
To Him all praises bring;
Alleluia! Alleluia!
I lift my voice to sing
I lift my voice to sing
(In the shelter of Your wing)

You are more faithful,
Faithful and mighty to save,
Calling Your people,
We enter Your courts singing praise.

(Repeat Chorus)

Behind the Song
These lyrics were written over a few days at a run-down monastery built into the side of a mountain above Big Sur, California. The monastery overlooks a huge expanse of California coastline, with ocean and sky stretching as far as the eye can see. All day long the green-blue sea rolls in waves to the rocky shore. Each night thousands of stars brighten the ink sky. Every dawn unveils the vast grandeur once again. An ocean brings waves to the shore, thousands each day, for millennia… His faithfulness will outlast it. Countless stars dusting and spinning through a million milky ways… His kindnesses outnumber them. In all their immensity, only limited reflections of their Creator.
